The Ajanta Caves, found in Maharashtra, India are 30 Buddhist rock-cut temples and monasteries set along horseshoe shaped river gorge. The caves were built between 2nd century BC and 5th century AD. The paintings and sculptures in Ajanta are considered masterpieces of the Buddhist art and Ajanta is UNESCO World Heritage Site.
